Neighbors— what a joy it has been. It has been so easy to get to love our area because of how much care we all take to promote good in our community. Common care shows.
From Broadway in Boystown down to Lake View and up the Ashland corridor, and through the Sunny Side Mall, to Lawrence, and in Buena Park— I’ve learned and loved every street because over the years my wife and I have come to walk every street.
And in the shops and restaurants, passing by on dog walks or stroller walks, the simple hello’s go a long way. They don’t exist everywhere.
Schools are anchors. Advocating for better parking options and better dog walking options are just mutual victories.
And this has promoted our academic victories.
As a local school council we prioritized our allocations toward wholistic growth and development, including greater mental health support at early ages— and directly engaged in multi race culture ethnicity and identity dialogue.
It is my belief that this innovative approach enabled us to do great things, and even increased our attendance averages far above district averages once schools reopened, despite being a district wide school.
We have accomplished so much.
So please stay with me, as I would love to stay with you.
