I agree wholeheartedly with this opinion piece.

Returning graduates into a teaching program makes perfect sense. Hire great teachers, retain teachers that are familiar with their community, and grow a direct pipeline into a body that can advocate for their schools’ needs.

Furthermore:

With dedicated paths into the labor force, such as a new community oriented school teacher or a new journey man in a proud union.

These options provide an opportunity for everyone to grow.

I personally hope that the similar efforts I am involved in face similar similar success.

The work of Saint Paul Community Development Ministries is just this. Amazing work is done there to grow the constructions, trades, and labor into even stronger bodies.
