About the Petition I Started: More Dog Parks, Not On CPS Campuses,

And a shout out of congratulations to Lakeside Area Neighbors Association (LANA) in Uptown for another successful block party!

From my time serving on the Local School Council at Senn High School in Edgewater, to beginning my second year on the Local School Council at Disney Magnet Elementary, I have seen the good that can come from community stakeholders working together.

I represent the neighborhood community of the school.

It does not help any stakeholder to endanger our students’ wellbeing by littering their campus with pet waste.

This is not something our school can address alone and it requires direct action from elected officials.

I hope this impact is made and that such action is taken.

I hope that this helps similar conversations advance at other schools across our district.

No CPS school should have to allocate resources to address pet waste from negatively impacting our students’ learning experience.

And No CPS school should have to allocate resources to compel their elected leaders to do what they should.

That should already be happening.
