CHICAGO- During consideration late Wednesday, Representative Will Guzzardi (D-39) committed to cosponsoring the first elected school board next step bill, drafted by Representative La Shawn Ford.

The bill will establish a staff member for each board member, since the board members themselves are not paid.

“I have Known Representative Guzzardi for a long time now, and he has been fighting for education equity and representation from the start,” Daniel Kleinman, the bill’s manager, wrote.
