I am proud of my experience advocating for candidates who fight for accountable democracy in Chicago’s public education system, from policy to politics. People are what can make this work.
I am proud of my day today, such a beautiful day, canvassing for two such candidates: Senator Robert Martwick, who took a stand and got our policy foot in the door to now improve upon an Elected School Board in Chicago, and Representative Lindsey LaPointe, whose personal role in nonprofit social work really speaks to me, as a disabled individual who has relied on social work systems.
I encourage you to help candidates you believe in, too.
I would love to hear from any other candidate committed to public education and has proved it through action.
Like Cook County Commissioner Brandon Johnson, Representative Will Guzzardi, Representative-candidate Jay Travis, Representative Kelly Cassidy, Congressman Mike Quigley, Alderman Harry Osterman, and Mayoral-candidate Miguel de Valle— I have canvassed for these candidates who have always been based on conviction.
You should too. Democracy is depending on it.
