To me, the conclusion is obvious. People who take care of Chicago’s students as their job, as their livelihood, deserve to be treated as such.
Earlier today I had one of those social media rant post moments that I hear are all the rave:
I stand with SEIU Local 73 in their effort for a fair contract to serve at CPS schools. I am an elected Local School Council member, but even more, I remember growing up saved by a school’s special education, learning counseling, and support staff services. I am someone who saw first hand the difference education aids and support staff make in providing a strong and safe learning environment. I stand with Local 73 SEIU because that which is best for a school‘s working environment is best for a student’s learning environment. I believe in balanced budgets. But I believe in balanced priorities too. Many students who need these extra services already have extra hardships, and providing to these students what they need is worth it.
Either way, Thanks.
Looking forward,
