I am excited to share this update regarding the movement on our bill language to codify a staff member for elected school board members.

I am very appreciative for the Representatives who have shared their thoughts already.

We can do this.

A great question came up:

The bill might be budget neutral. Creating the school board with constituent coordinators will inherently be area based— dozens of CPS positions, all paying over six digits to pay area based chiefs; we could consider how restructuring those high paying staff could impact increasing staffing capacity.

I am thrilled we are coming to the table together.
